Teen Patti Apps: Where Things Stand Now

Last reviewed 2026-08-17

Real-money Teen Patti falls under the same national ban as rummy and poker. Free and social Teen Patti apps are unaffected and remain available.

What changed

The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 prohibits online games where money or money's worth is staked. Teen Patti played for cash falls squarely inside that definition.

The Act does not target the game itself. Versions played with virtual chips that cannot be cashed out are treated as social or casual games and are expressly promoted rather than restricted.
